Achieving multi-region reliability with AWS Step Functions and Fauna
Using legacy technologies, deploying applications with multi-region distribution is costly and complex. With Fauna and AWS solutions like Step Functions, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudFormation, you will gain an understanding of how to do so over the course of a short blog post. Fauna partnered with the team at AWS to highlight the ease of running your application in multiple AWS regions, and how Fauna simplifies storing and retrieving data across those regions. While AWS offers a suite of robust cloud orchestration tools and compute infrastructure, Fauna delivers the strong consistency and ACID transactions of a relational database with the performance and flexibility you expect from a document database — ultimately simplifying the process of building performant multi-region applications. Fauna is distributed by default (either in a single region or globally), leading to natural alignment with global workloads built on AWS.
In this blog, you will learn:
- How to quickly create a multi-region database with Fauna deployed to data centers in the EU and the United States
- How to combine multiple service integrations and steps into a complete microservice with AWS Step Functions
- And, ultimately, how to build and deploy a multi-region serverless application with AWS Step Functions and Fauna
Fauna is a proud AWS Partner. Check out the blog on the AWS Partner Network for a step-by-step of how Fauna and Step Functions can deliver your next global application. If you're looking to take another step in your learning, check out our recent Fauna - AWS Step Functions workshop.
